Do I need an Instagram API key to use UnlockDM?

No. UnlockDM works without an official Instagram API key. We use a secure connection method that works with your existing account. You just connect your Instagram and you're ready to go.

How does the follow verification work?

When a fan taps "Unlock," UnlockDM checks in real time whether they're following your account. If they're not following, the unlock is blocked and they're prompted to follow first. There's no way to bypass this check.

What counts as a "verified referral"?

A referral is verified when the referred person: (1) comments the keyword on your post, (2) follows your account, and (3) unlocks the free reward using the referrer's code. All three steps must be completed.

Can I run more than one campaign at a time?

Yes. During beta, you can run multiple campaigns and give each one its own keyword, free reward, bonus threshold, and referral code structure.

What types of rewards can I deliver?

You can deliver any digital reward via a link — PDF downloads, Google Drive files, Gumroad products, Notion pages, course links, promo codes, or any URL. UnlockDM sends the link automatically in the DM once a fan unlocks.

How does fraud detection work?

UnlockDM automatically flags suspicious activity including: accounts created very recently, multiple unlocks from the same IP, accounts with no posts or followers, and self-referrals. Flagged referrals go into a review queue.
