It runs on the official Meta API, only messages people who comment first, and paces every DM through a queue to stay under Instagram's limits. When a fan taps "Unlock," UnlockDM checks in real time whether they're following your account. If they're not following, the unlock is blocked and they're prompted to follow first. There's no way to bypass this check.
A referral is verified when the referred person comments the keyword on your post, follows your account, and unlocks the free reward using the referrer's link. All three steps must be completed. Fake accounts and self referrals are flagged automatically.
